Due to the location and large size of the thyroid, it is important to wear this collar so that your thyroid gland can be protected from radiation exposure as excessive exposure can lead to thyroid cancer.

Stop smoking

It is a well-known fact that smoking is bad for the health but for the thyroid patients, it can put a greater risk. The components of smoke which range from thiocyanate to nicotine can lead to an increase in excretion of iodine and it can affect your thyroid’s performance badly. It is also suggested by most of the doctors that smoking can influence the thyroid hormone levels by affecting the enzyme that converts the thyroid’s active form into an inactive form.

Along with a healthy diet, it is important to do meditation daily. Meditation helps to reduce the problems of anxiety, stress, tension, or other related. If we do meditation daily, it is has been noticed that the thyroid decreases due to regular walking and meditation.

Consider supplements

Iodine deficiency is very rare in the developed countries due to supplementation in the table salt and other foods such as dairy and bread. So, it has been recommended by the doctors not to take iodine pills without consulting your doctor.
